I had the chance to make use of some good weather we've been having recently, by doing some summer time location shoots. In my opinion there is no better light then what is described as the golden hour of light.
This term is given to the light that is present first thing on clear mornings and last thing on clear evenings, when the sun is at its lowest point in the sky. Normally as the sun is rising and falling for the day. With such warm tones and at an angle that eliminates harsh shadows, it makes for perfect lighting for portraiture or any form of photography for that matter.
You do however need to be quick when working with this type of light as it disappears quick.
I found a perfect location in a few corn fields above my sunny seaside home town folkestone, to shoot in. My model for the evening, the stunning Anna, provided plenty of amazing photos, this just being one of them.
I had met Anna about two months earlier at the wedding of her sister Sarah, which you can view images of that in the wedding section here. The second I met Anna I knew that she was gonna be capable of producing great natural images, and thought one day i'll hopefully get the chance to collaborate together on a project. Well, she answered a casting I had put out and I jumped at the chance to work together. I can't say I was wrong. She proved what I had thought, in that she was more than capable in providing great, natural looking images.
Keep an eye out for some more from this set in due course. For now enjoy this sneak peek and get yourselves out in the ''Golden hour of light'' and go capture some awesome shots.
