The need to know.

About me.

So you found my website in the vast expanse of the world wide web. Thats pretty awesome. Now your reading this and that makes things even more awesome. I can only imagine you have seen something in my work that either captivated you or intrigued you, to delve a little further down the rabbit hole of trying to find the perfect photographer for you. I'm guessing you want to know a bit more about me and what I do.

Well I'm James. I'm a Kent documentary wedding & portrait photographer. I am a Son, Brother and awesome uncle to a family that I love dearly. I'm a pretty simplistic dude, who loves to make photographs at every chance I get. Music lover, Book worm and keen traveller.

I'm beyond passionate about photography, ever since I picked up a camera several years ago. I have had an unquenchable thirst for wanting to create beautiful imagery.

I am a people person at heart and I love meeting new people. Building a connection with someone, even if its for a very brief moment in time. That is something truly spectacular to me.

I love to photograph people more then anything. Why? Because people are emotional beings. And emotions are powerful things to capture on camera. I spend my time photographing people, whether its at weddings, modelling shoots or even strangers on the street. The one thing I am always looking for is some sort of emotion. Emotions and feelings help tell stories. Wedding days are always the most fun because you can experience every emotion known to mankind in just one day.

But there is an art to capturing people and emotions on camera. I have a simple and effective way of capturing images like this, and I'll share my secret with you. You have to 'connect' with the person or people you are photographing. I'm not going to turn up on a wedding day and stand on the very fringe of the action and shoot inwards. or turn up for a modelling shoot and barley say two words to you. I like to chat and mingle and make myself known to everyone. I like to get to know the people I'm photographing. I smile and make jokes. I make the tea or go pick aunt Helen up from the train station if need be. I let everyone know I'm not the big scary man with a camera trying to catch people off guard. I'm the friendly guy how wants to capture people at their most natural and relaxed, having a good time whilst doing so. It really is that simple, and Its a formula that I implement in my everyday going on's

So why should you book with me?

Well If you want a fun, friendly and enjoyable experience with a beautiful set of images to boot, whether it be for any type of job from a wedding to a modelling session. Then look no further.

This is me

I've been known to take a self portrait from time to time.

Never trust a photographer unless they are willing to stand in front of the camera themselves.

Rules to live by

Be nice to everyone.

Don't take life too seriously. No one gets out alive anyway.

Shoot first, without hesitation. Its always easier to ask for forgiveness, then permission.
