Eye spy

James Eldridge March 24, 2014

Following on from yesterdays post about how eyes play a vital part in portrait photography. It brought back the memory of these images I took last year.

Using nothing more than an iPad and a macro lens, I went about trying it out with some of my models. I wanted each of the images to represent something that meant a lot to the model. In this case I remembered from the first time I met & photographed Anna that she was a huge Rolling stones fan. So I grabbed the iconic logo and gave it a go. There was a lot of trial and error when it came to getting the perfect shot. Placing the light source (iPad) at different positions and angles to get the right look was the most hardest. But with a little perseverance we got there.

Try it and let me know what you think. There are endless possibilities to come up with.
