To break from my traditional posts about photography related stuff, I wanted to share my thoughts of something that truly rocked me. If you haven't heard by now, the legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams died last night, 11th August. Of what is widely been reported as suicide.

Folkestone Air Show 2014 - Red Arrows
For a long time the Folkestone air show was a annual fixture for my home town. For one weekend in the year, it would be taken over by thousands of visitors coming to enjoy the good weather, some of the local fish and chips and of course the air displays.

Whats up everybody? I hope you are all well and the bank holiday has been kind to you.
I wanted to share a quick tip with you all. A lot of people these days have their heads buried in their iPhones and other such devices and forget that there is a world around them that they are just letting pass them by. I make a point that when I go out walking that I leave my phone in my pocket and I pay attention to the world around me.

I have been working near enough 20 hour days of late, and it has started to catch up with me. I have believed that I could stay up all night and carry on a normal day with no problems what so ever. For a long time I have believed this and did exactly that. I would work all day and never stop long enough to get tired. I have since realised that it isn't a healthy or good way to live. So I've started to change my ways and put a stop to it.

Shadows can add a lot to a photograph. They can emphasise the emotions, create surreal images, and be using a variety of ways. While strong use of shadows in colour photographs tends to be mostly used in silhouettes, it can also appear in a variety of other forms in colour photos as well. In my opinion though shadows on most powerful when used in black and white photographs.
